Doflamingo's overall combat abilities defeated Luffy's overall combat abiliites. And once you get to the point where someone else has to step in to save your butt from being killled by your opponent, I call that a lost battle for you. In my book Dressrosa beat Doflamingo in a joint effort, but Doflamingo beat Luffy in a 1 on 1 fight. Katakuri could damage Luffy, not because he had equal or superior Armament Haki, but because he had enough power to overcome Luffy's Durability during Gear 4. The same happens with Doflamingo, matching Luffy's armament wasnt the problem, the problem was the increase of Luffy's durability, which Doffy could match with his hakiless awakened strings.
Doflamingo can make his string clones to deal with the weak links like Nami, Robin, Franky and Chopper. While the real deal takes on Sanji, Brooke and Zoro, but he kicks their ass. Zoro is the
